Payment processor SecureNet Payment Systems has developed Mobile PayOS, which enables merchants to use Apple's iOS mobile devices to receive mobile payments.
Mobile PayOS uses a hardware attachment to read debit and credit cards. The app can also track cash payments from remote locations. SecureNet plans to offer an Android version shortly.
"As new sales channels emerge, customers have unlimited options to choose when and where they want to shop. By presenting new sales opportunities and speeding up cash flow, Mobile PayOS enables merchants of all sizes to manage and grow their business on-the-go," said Brent Warrington, CEO of SecureNet, in an August 14 press release.
The app includes customizable inventory, tax, sales reporting and staff management tools for business owners, and also supports inventory sorting, ticket creation, tipping, geolocation and email receipts.
