Singapore's NETS Expands Acceptance Of Its Contactless Cards

IMGCAP(1)]

Network for Electronic Transfers Ltd., an electronic-payments firm based in Singapore and commonly known as NETS, has struck a deal to enable consumers to make contactless purchases at a local coffee chain. The deal enables drivers to use their chip-enabled NETS CashCards for purchases at two Rasa Rasa coffee shops, the payments firm says. Consumers hold some 4.5 million CashCards, which they use to pay for tolls, parking and retail purchases. Drivers can add value to the cards at convenience stores, petrol stations and kiosks. "We want to make this the only card [consumers] need now for a quick coffee or a bowl of noodles," a spokesperson for the payments firm says in a statement.
