A new program offered by Sioux Empire Federal Credit union gives savers the ability to put extra change away from debit card purchases by rounding up transactions to the nearest dollar and adding the difference to the member’s savings account.

Under the Debit Card Round Up program, when members use their debit card at a gas station for a purchase of $39.79, the Sioux Falls, S.D.-based institution will transfer 21 cents automatically to a designated savings account.
