Sri Lankan Bank, Telco Sign Card-Payment Deal

National Trust Bank has signed a deal with Sri Lanka-based telecommunications company Lanka Bell to offer an online payment service to Lanka's customers, a spokesperson for that company tells CardLine Global. The deal enables customers to use their American Express credit cards issued by Sri Lanka-based National Trust to pay their phone bills online, the spokesperson says. Lanka Bell says it has about 1 million customers. Bank officials did not return a CardLine Global request for comment.
