Point-of-sale equipment and services distributor Tasq Technology Inc. has added two multilane Hypercom Corp. POS terminals to its equipment list, Hypercom says today. The Scottsdale, Ariz.-based company says Tasq, a Rocklin, Calif.-based division of First Data Corp., is selling the Optimum L4150 and L4250 terminals originally designed for large retailers with multiple checkout lanes to its independent sales organization and financial-institution customers. Tasq could order up to 100,000 of the devices over the next 12 months, Hypercom says. "Hypercom benefits because we are engaged with an established reseller who will now sell our multilane terminals in addition to the countertop terminals that [Tasq is] already selling," a Hypercom spokesperson tells CardLine sister publication ISO&Agent Weekly. "That expands our multilane products' footprint." Tasq benefits by being able to resell Hypercom multilane products to its resellers and ISOs, he says. A Tasq spokesperson says the distributor's expansion into multilane terminals will aid merchants. "TASQ's model of being a just-in-time stocking distributor provides value to the space that has traditionally suffered from long lead times," the spokesperson tells ISO&Agent Weekly. She would not disclose contract details.
