TransferTo, eZ Cash partner for remittance services in Sri Lanka

Sri Lankan mobile telco operator Dialog Axiata’s eZ Cash mobile money network and TransferTo, an international cross-border payments company, have partnered to expand eZ Cash’s services to new global markets.

The move will enable eZ Cash’s 2.6 million customers in Sri Lanka to send and receive funds to a broad global network of destinations TransferTo supports, the companies said in a Feb. 22 press release. EZ Cash is distributed through 20,000 retail agent locations throughout Sri Lanka.

“We’re pleased to expand eZ Cash availability globally through TransferTo and give Sri Lankans working away from home the peace of mind to send money to their families,” said Fariq Cader, vice president of Dialog Digital Services, in the release.

TransferTo works through partnerships with other remittance services to deliver funds to locations worldwide through a network of 16,000 agents.

“Sending money home should be as simple as sending an SMS to the people who count,” said Eric Barbier, TransferTo’s CEO, in the release. “Network partners of TransferTo can now offer money transfers direct to eZ Cash to better serve their customers,” he added.
