Trustwave and Transaction Network Services (TNS) plan to jointly provide an encryption service designed to shield payment card information.
TNS, a payments technology company, will host Trustwaves encryption in its network and data centers to provide encryption for the entire payment process. The joint service will be offered as an open platform, designed to work with different point of sale systems and payment processors.
"Since we will be connected to the TNS network, a network that reaches across a variety of platforms, we can expand our global reach to existing TNS and Trustwave customers as well as to new customers who are seeking better protection of their sensitive information," said Doug Klotnia, general manager of compliance and risk management at Trustwave, in a press release.
