Savard will replace former UniRush CEO Rob Rosenblatt. Rosenblatt is “pursuing other opportunities,” said UniRush spokesman Edmund Tagliaferri in an email. Savard had been serving as chairman of UniRush since June 2013.

Savard was previously CEO of NetSpend from 2004 to 2008. In 2009, he joined FSV Payments' board as a director and became CEO in Dec. 2012.

RushCard is one of Visa's oldest prepaid cards, founded in 2003 by hip hop mogul Russell Simmons. The Bancorp Bank is the RushCard's issuer.

"We are delighted to extend our relationship with Rick to include these crucial leadership roles. We have worked with Rick off and on since 2008 and feel he has the experience and vision to take the RushCard franchise to the next level," Simmons says in a Jan 8 press release.
