VerifyValid is offering businesses and consumers a mobile application that enables users to write, approve, sign, receive and deposit checks from an iOS device.

VerifyValid confirms whether a check was issued from an authenticated account, a process designed to alleviate item representment.
"Based on growing instances of card network breaches, we saw a definite need for an advanced payment solution that builds upon traditional check payments to better serve and protect businesses and customers," says Paul Doyle, founder and chief executive officer of VerifyValid, in a press release.
Since the mobile application operates on an open network, individuals and businesses can send eChecks to anyone with a valid email address, whether or not they are a VerifyValid user.
In addition, Mobile Checkbook provides access to a free eLockbox to view all received eChecks. Users can print eChecks or deposit payments directly into their checking account at certain financial institutions, the Grand Rapids, Mich.-based payments provider says.
