Vivotech Receives U.S. Patent For NFC Technology

United States-based contactless technology vendor VivoTech Inc. Monday said it has received a U.S. patent related for its Near Field Communication software. NFC, being tested in dozens of projects around the world, enables mobile phones to make contactless payments, including for retail and mass transit. The patent covers Vivotech's technology that enables consumers to download payment cards through mobile networks. The over-the-air provisioning technology can make it easier for consumers to enroll in loyalty programs or for issuers to send more information to their customers' mobile phones.
