The service will provide cash transfers to accounts at the Mexican bank Grupo Financiero Banorte. The transfers will be made through UniTeller, the remittance service owned by Banorte.

The service will be available at Western Union retail outlets, as well as through the company's mobile app.

"Thanks to this international collaboration, Western Union customers in the United States can send money directly into Banorte accounts and soon to other Mexican banks," said Odilon Almeida, Western Union's president for the Americans and European Union, in a press release Jan. 14.

Western Union is based in Englewood, Colo.
