WEX has retooled its corporate payments solution team, hiring former Mastercard exec Mark Aquilina as senior vice president of product and strategy of a new unit.
Aquilina, who spent almost eight years working in commercial card products at Mastercard before joining the Portland, Maine-based WEX, previously worked at U.S. Bank overseeing fleet card programs. At WEX Aquilina will focus on developing cloud-based solutions for corporate payments across sectors including travel and health care.
WEX also promoted Greg Sassone from vice president of FI solutions to the new role of senior vice president, business and partner growth.
Dylan Jones will move from payments strategy operations leader to vice president of operations at WEX as part of the restructuring.
