Wex Boosts Travel Payments Tech

Corporate payment company Wex has entered a partnership with travel services provider Grupo Transhotel to broaden travel payments services.

The companies will sell the Wex Travel Solution, which will give businesses the ability to use virtual cards for travel booking, reconciliation, and customized payment controls. The system can also integrate with a company’s existing travel or corporate payments system.

Wex provides multi channel corporate payment solutions to more than 7.6 million cardholders. Its operations include Wex Bank, Fleet One, Pacific Pride, Write Express Prepaid Cards Australia, and CorporatePay Ltd. England—one of the United Kingdom’s largest providers of prepaid MasterCard and Visa cards for travel, healthcare, and media sectors. Wex is also is in the midst of an expansion of its virtual card program.

The partnership with Transhotel will allow CorporatePay to expand its footprint into the European travel payments sector, said Myles Stephenson, CEO of CorporatePay, in a release.

Among other companies, MasterCard also recently upgraded its corporate payment and travel technology by adding electronic receipts.
