Wex Offers Corporate Travel Payment Services in Brazil

Corporate payments services provider Wex will now offer its travel booking and payment automation service to businesses in Brazil.

The Wex Travel offering resembles similar services in the U.S., Australia and Europe. It provides single-use virtual cards for travel booking, allowing businesses to better control payment authorizations and reconciliations. The product's expansion comes after the South Portland, Maine-based company recently acquired a majority stake in Brazilian payroll cards provider Unik SA.

"Latin America is becoming one of the most important regions in the global travel industry, and we are thrilled to further support local businesses through Wex Travel," Unik CEO Jose Roberto Kracochansky said in a press release.

Wex, formerly Wright Express, has been expanding its global reach with a number of new initiatives, including an e-gift card program with retailers in Australia and New Zealand.
