WorldPay Renews McDonald’s UK Processing Agreement

WorldPay UK Ltd., formerly RBS WorldPay, has extended its payment-processing agreement with McDonald’s UK, which operates 1,200 restaurants in the United Kingdom, WorldPay announced on March 24. Terms were not disclosed.

Under the agreement, WorldPay will continue to process debit and credit card payments at those McDonald’s locations, WorldPay said in a news release.

McDonald’s uses WorldPay’s Streamline service, which supports high-volume transaction processing, according to WorldPay

The global restaurant chain renewed the agreement because it is focused on accommodating new technology such as contactless payments. WorldPay’s system can support contactless technology and other “cutting edge” payment methods, McDonald’s noted in the release.
