ATLANTA – Credit bureau Equifax yesterday said it has introduced a new solution to help financial institutions determine the likelihood that a consumer has an adjustable rate mortgage.

LaVALE, Md. – WEPCO is building a new office building here, which is expected to be completed early next year. Construction began July 23 and is expected to take 34 weeks. The 57-year-old credit union has almost $120 million in assets and 20,000 members.

TAMPA, Fla. – GTE FCU yesterday announced it has contracted with Gila Corp. to collect its delinquent loans. Gila Group will handle the collection of delinquent mortgage loans 30-to-90 days behind on behalf of the $2.1 billion credit union. Gila is based in Austin, Texas.

PITTSFIELD, Mass. – Greylock FCU said its Greylock Insurance Agency CUSO is partnering with Berkshire Life Insurance Co. of America to offer long-term care insurance at a 10% discount.

ROVEPORT, Ohio – First Service FCU yesterday said it has purchased two former Sky Bank branch offices from Huntington Bancshares, which acquired Sky this year.

NEW ALBANY, Ind. – Authorities have little hope of recovering any of the $7 million a teller stole from Obelisk FCU, forcing NCUA to liquidate the 70-year-old credit union earlier this year. That’s because the teller, Patricia Sherman, 49, gambled away the funds at riverboat casinos in southern Indiana, authorities said yesterday.
