First of America Unit Names Chief Executive
DETROIT - Directors of First of America Bank-Southeast Michigan elected Richard R. Spears president and chief executive officer to succeed David T. Harrison, who has led the $2.9 billion-asset bank since April 1988.
"Consolidating and integrating the First of America banks into the Southeast Michigan bank has succeeded quicker than I anticipated," Mr. Harrison said. "I felt I could resign now to pursue other business interests in the Detroit area."
His resignation is effective July 26.
Mr. Spears has been executive vice president and chief financial officer of First of America Bank-Southeast Michigan since April 1988. The bank is owned by First of America Bank Corp., Kalamazoo.
