Napa Tellers Get Software Link

Napa Valley Bank, Napa, Calif., has installed software from Arkansas Systems Inc. that links its teller terminals to an AS/400 midrange computer from International Business Machines Corp.

The software, called Teller Terminal Management, interfaces with the bank's core banking systems, the Comprehensive Banking System from Fiserv, on the AS/400 to provide on-line access to account information.

The software also support loan inquiries and payments, funds transfers, transaction reversals, customer data inquires, and other administrative services.

A Niche for the System

AS/400s have become popular among small and medium-size banks that want to retain data processing in-house but cannot support a large mainframe.

Napa Valley Bank is using Branchnet Automation System from InterNet Systems for on-line teller transactions, customer service, and administrative tasks at its nine branches in the Napa Valley of California.
