Filing by Josephthal details Rodman stake.

Josephthal, Lyon & Ross added to its stake in Rodman & Renshaw Capital Group right up until the expiration last Friday of its offer for the Chicago-based company, a recent Securities and Exchange Commission filing shows.

Josephthal, a New York-based financial services firm, now holds 428,800 shares of Rodman stock, or about 9.82% of the outstanding shares, according to an amendment to a previously filed Schedule 13D. The amendment was filed Monday and received by the SEC on Tuesday.

Adding to its previous holdings, Josephthal purchased 54,800 shares on the New York Stock Exchange between Aug. 6 and Aug. 20 at $7.75 to $8.25 a share.

Josephthal and Rodman officials could not be reached for comment.

A 13D must be filed with the SEC within 10 days of an entity attaining a 5% or more position in any class of a company's securities. Any subsequent change in holdings or intentions must be reported to the SEC in an amended filing.
