PARKERSBURG, W. Va. - United Bankshares Inc. said it completed its acquisition of Financial Future Corp.
The transaction was valued at more than $22 million. Financial Future shareholders will receive five shares of United common stock for each of their shares.
With United's stock price at $25, this equals $125 worth of United stock, or 2.06 times the book value of Financial Future, United said.
The Cleveland-based bank is projecting steady growth in net interest income even as credit losses remain manageable. But Chairman and CEO Chris Gorman also said that he thinks a recession is likely.
