Those facing foreclosure can get free tips on how to work it out.

Homeowners who face foreclosure are being offered free advice by a California publisher.

Jensen Publications, the publisher of "How to Fight Foreclosure and Win With Honor," "Foreclosure Solutions Guidebook," and "Foreclosure Solutions Newsletter," is providing copies of "10 Tips on How to Negotiate a Foreclosure Workout," to people who send in a stumped, self-addressed envelope.

According to Jeff Jensen, author of "How to Fight Foreclosure and Win With Honor," research shows that most homeowners who lost their homes in foreclosure could have avoided the loss if they had known all the options available to them.

"One of the most powerful options for avoiding foreclosure, when executed properly, is to negotiate a workout with the lender," he said.

"Workouts range from various types of forbearances to the increasingly popular short sale. However, the success of any workout depends greatly on how effectively it is presented to the lender or loan servicer."

Lenders who want to find out what their borrowers are being told can write to Jensen Publications, 200 Main St., Suite 104-201, Huntington Beach, Calif. 92648. -- Edward Kulkosky
