Central Virginia Bank-shares, Powhatan, Va., earned $333,194, or 36 cents a share, in the first quarter, compared with $319,085, or 57 cents a share a year ago.
Earnings per share were lower because there were 66% more shares outstanding. Assets jumped 18%, to $103.5 million, and deposits increased to $90.5 million.
