Ludwig: GOP to make CRA revisions tougher.

WASHINGTON - The Clinton administration has acknowledged that the Republican electoral victory will make it harder for parts of the revised Community Reinvestment Act to make it through Congress.

In a speech Friday to the National Community Reinvestment Coalition, which met in Phoenix, Comptroller of the Currency Eugene A. Ludwig discussed the proposal's chances.

"There is no question that the political climate in Washington has changed dramatically," Mr. Ludwig said.

"There is likely to be less congressional support for some of the elements in the revised proposal."
