Countrywide Mortgage Investments, the real estate investment trust affiliated with Countrywide Credit Industries, has elected to change its name to CWM Mortgage Holdings, according to Mike Perry, executive vice president.
"Under the previous name, there was some confusion among shareholders, mortgage investors, and customers as to the relationship of the two companies. With these name changes, we hope to clarify the two distinct companies," he said.
As part of the change, CWM Mortgage Holdings' conduit will now operate as Independent National Mortgage Corp., and its warehouse lending division will operate as Warehouse Lending Corp. of America.
