National City Bancorp reports a 16% rise.

MINNEAPOLIS -- National City Bancorp, the $655 million-asset holding company for National City Bank of Minneapolis and Diversified Business Credit, announced net earnings of $1.9 million for second-quarter 1994, or 32 cents per share, up 16% from $1.7 million, or 26 cents per share in second-quarter 1993.

Net earnings for the first Six months were $3.9 million, or 64 cents per share, compared with $3.5 million, or 54 cents per share a year earlier.

Included in the year-to-date 1994 earnings is a $204,000 credit for a cumulative effect of change in accounting principle.
