Card briefs: Okla.'s BCCS Picks Hypercom POS System

PHOENIX - Hypercom Inc. announced that Bankers Credit Card Service of Oklahoma City has selected the Hypercom T7E and T7P point of sale terminals for exclusive use with their merchant and the State of Oklahoma accounts. BCCS selected Hypercom after six years with its previous point of sale terminal supplier.

The T7E is equipped with 256 kilobytes of memory, allowing it to handle a batch size of more than 400 transactions. The terminal's easy-to-learn 35-key keyboard allows single-stroke activation and simplified data entry. In addition, dial transaction response times are less than 10 seconds, compared with 15 seconds for similar types of terminals.

BCCS will also install the T7P POS terminal for the State of Oklahoma in 18 state agencies with 515 locations. The State of Oklahoma will accept about $50 million in credit card volume this year.

Bankers Credit Card Service is a wholly owned subsidiary of Guaranty Bank and Trust Co., Oklahoma City. As the Visa and MasterCard issuing and processing center for 84 banks, BCCS serves about 3,600 retail customers with yearly deposits in excess of $300 million.
