SAN FRANCISCO - Visa has announced a promotion that will tie in to next year's Olympic Games in Atlanta.

Customers using Visa cards to make purchases at participating merchants this month and next will be entered into a sweepstakes for 10 trips to the Olympics.

Visa, an Olympics sponsor, said each trip package is worth $13,000, including airfare, hotel accommodations for four nights, ground transportation, Olympics tickets, and $4,300 in cash.

Joining Visa in the sweepstakes are Caldor, Circuit City, Damark, Office Depot, Outback Steakhouse, Service Merchandise, The Sharper Image, The Sports Authority, T.J. Maxx, and Venture. One winner will be selected from each merchant.

Additionally, for every Visa card purchase, the association will make a donation to the 1996 U.S. Olympic team, with a minimum $2.5 million contribution.
