Tech Type: Financial Systems Has New Collections Tool

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Financial Systems Group has unveiled new delinquent-loan collections software for the Windows environment.

Known as Intellect, the software has already been installed at the International Bank of Commerce, a $1.9 billion-asset institution based in Laredo, Tex.

The software "eliminated much of the manual processes we previously used to collect delinquent loans," said Juan Gamez, first vice president of the bank. "Intellect has greatly improved the efficiency of our people, thus allowing us to do more with the same amount of resources."

The software is PC-based and costs about $15,000, according to the Financial Systems Group. A division of Summit Computer Services Inc., Financial Systems also offers a PC-based loan recovery system known as the Chargeoff Recovery System.
