In Brief: Quality Mortgage USA's Top Executive Resigns

Quality Mortgage USA, a midsize subprime lender, has lost its president, chief executive, and chairman.

Neil B. Kornswiet, who held all three positions, left the Irvine, Calif., company in September, just days after representing Quality Mortgage at an industry conference.

Mr. Kornswiet was with the Washington law firm of McKenna & Fitting before he joined Quality Mortgage.

He could not be reached for comment. A company representative said only that Mr. Kornswiet resigned.

The company's outside counsel, Thomas Hood, is acting as president while a search for a permanent replacement is conducted. Mr. Hood did not respond to a request for comment.
