American Skandia Hires a Point Man For Its Annuity Sales to Southern

American Skandia Life Assurance Corp. is bringing on a new regional sales manager to market its annuity products to banks.

The Shelton, Conn.-based insurance company named William Walsh to direct marketing of annuities to banks in 12 southeastern states. Mr. Walsh worked at Independent Financial Marketing Group. He replaces Leslie Sousa, who was promoted within American Skandia's bank distribution channel to the position of national sales director of key accounts.

Meanwhile, American Skandia is close to hiring a new bank channel marketing chief for southern California, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, Hawaii, and Colorado. Kimberly Anderson, who held that position, is now marketing the company's annuities to financial planners and brokers on the East Coast.
