In Brief: Kentucky Consultant Opening D.C. Office

WASHINGTON - Professional Bank Services, a Louisville, Ky.-based bank and thrift consulting firm, plans to open a Washington office next month.

The firm hired Anita Newcomb in January as managing director of the office.

An Indiana office was opened in January, and the firm is looking at expanding to Chicago, Ms. Newcomb said. "We believe there is a tremendous amount of opportunity at the community banking level," she said.

Ms. Newcomb came from the Secura Group in Washington, of which she was a principal. From 1990 to 1992 she was vice president at BEI Golembe, a Washington-based bank consulting firm.

Professional Bank Services has six offices and specializes in mergers and acquisitions, regulatory compliance, human relations consulting, and litigation support.
