Card Briefs: Hungary ATM Project Receives Seed Money

GREENWICH, Conn. - The Hungarian-American Enterprise Fund has invested $1 million in Bank 24, a $4.1 million project using U.S. banking technology to establish a network of automated teller machines in Hungary.

Hardware and services will be supplied by International Business Machines Corp. under a $10 million contract. A second American company, Arkansas Systems Inc., will provide the authorization software.

Over the next four years, Bank 24 will install 400 ATMs, augmenting an existing network of 300 in Hungary. The nationwide system will be linked through a common authorization center.
