National City Names Executive

National City Bank of Kentucky, a subsidiary of National City Corp., has promoted James R. Bell 3d to president and chief executive, and Leonard V. Hardin, the former president, to chairman.

They succeed Morton Boyd, who retired as chairman and CEO of the Louisville-based unit on June 30.

Mr. Bell, who was executive vice president, joined National City Bank of Kentucky in 1994. He began his career at National City Bank, Cleveland, in 1982 as a management trainee in corporate banking. He became senior vice president and head of the Cleveland unit's multinational division in 1992.
