Bulkeley, 57, Retires as Union Bank's Lending Chief

John Z. Bulkeley, executive vice president and chief lending officer for Union Bank of California, San Francisco, retired Aug. 1.

Mr. Bulkeley, 57, joined the former Union Bank in 1986 as head of the credit management group. Earlier, he had worked at Wells Fargo Bank and the former Crocker National Bank.

The credit function which Mr. Bulkeley had been overseeing has been merged with other divisions to form one credit management group headed by Minoru Noda, vice chairman and chief credit officer, the bank said.

Union Bank of California is a unit of Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi Ltd., Tokyo, through the Unionbancal Corp. holding company, San Francisco.
