Bank of America, San Francisco, named Daniel P. Riley to head a new wholesale operations organization.

He will remain group executive vice president for global payment services, a job he's had since July.

Before taking that assignment he had managed the bank's support services division and, since last year, its worldwide telecommunications operations as well.

He will continue to report to vice chairman Martin A. Stein, who is head of the bank's technology and computer operations division.

In addition, the bank hired Richard Breslow as head of North American foreign exchange trading.

Mr. Breslow ran the European currency desk at Goldman Sachs & Co. He will be based in New York and will oversee Bank of America's trading operations in New York, San Francisco, and Los Angeles.

He succeeded John Richards, who left to join National Australia Bank.
