In Brief: FDIC Sets Application Processing Timetable

The Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. has established deadlines for processing applications, notices, or formal requests from banks. For example, the agency said it needs a month to process an application to relocate a branch. The four-page timetable, released May 6, is only a guideline, according to the FDIC. Processing could take longer if the agency decides an application raises a unique legal or policy issue.

Bankers should contact their regional office for more information.
