Dresdner Builds Latin Coverage

Dresdner Kleinwort Benson, the U.S. investment banking arm of Germany's Dresdner Bank AG, is building up its Latin American coverage in New York.

The firm this week hired Deutsche Bank veteran D. Chris Tucker as head of Latin American equity trading and Michael Buckley, also of Deutsche Bank, as head of Latin American sales trading.

To head Latin American sales, Dresdner hired Jose Villami from BT Alex. Brown Inc. In Latin American research, the bank snared Prabhas Panigrahi, a senior oil and gas analyst from CS First Boston; Samuel Gomez, a senior beverage analyst from Santander Investments; John Wilson, a mining analyst from SBC Warburg; and Julianne Androshick, a former reporter, as a Latin American research associate.

The analysts will report to Warwick Jones, a senior vice president and head of Latin American research.
