Invest Financial Puts Officer's Son In Charge of Unit

Invest Financial Corp. last week named Greg C. Gunderson, its vice chairman's son, as president of its Investment Centers of America Inc. unit, a third-party marketer that serves community banks.

Tom E. Gunderson founded Investment Centers of America, which merged with Invest last year when both companies were bought by First American Corp., a Nashville banking company.

The younger Mr. Gunderson, based in Bismarck, N.D., will remain national sales manager of Investment Centers of America. He joined his father's company in 1994 after 15 years in sales and management posts at NCR Corp.

"Greg's keen understanding of the community bank marketplace has helped ICA remain a leader in the industry," said Merlin R. Gackle, chairman of Tampa-based Invest, in a prepared statement.

Investment Centers expects to increase sales through community banks by 15% this year, to $24.7 million.

Together, Investment Centers and Invest market investment products through 1,100 investment centers in more than 400 banks and savings institutions.
