Societe Generale Securities Corp. is beefing up its U.S. fixed-income group.
The U.S. investment banking arm of France's Societe Generale hired Smith Barney executives Stuart Goldberg and Hiroki Kurita for its asset-backed securities group, the bank said Tuesday.
Mr. Goldberg will be a director and head of asset-backed trading and report to managing director Richard Brounstein, head of U.S. fixed-income.
Mr. Kurita will be a vice president in asset-backed trading.
The new hires are a natural fit in a plan to aggressively build a customer-focused fixed-income group, Mr. Brounstein said. They will be "a pillar in the foundation as we look to fold in additional bankers, structurers, and salespeople."
