Honor Network's Volume Rose 18% in Quarter

Honor Technologies Inc., the regional electronic banking network based in Maitland, Fla., reported an 18% increase in volume for the first quarter.

The growth rate was adjusted for the merger in January of the Honor, Most, and Alert networks. Total transaction volume, including network, terminal driving, off-line debit, and home banking, reached 220.3 million.

Point of sale transactions increased 39% to 147.8 million. Off-line debit transactions doubled to 43.6 million.

The network said it has 40 million cardholders, 1,873 members, 28,000 ATMs, and 330,000 point of sale terminals in 17 states.

Separately, Honor said it is running a promotion with Exxon to give discounts on gas and services at participating stations.

Banks in the Honor ATM network can hand out coupons from tellers or through statement inserts to holders of automated teller machine cards with the Honor, Most, or Alert logos.

The coupons, which are valid through June 30, give customers $5 off an oil change, lube and filter, plus another $5 off a tire rotation and balance, radiator flush and fill, or air conditioner test. Discounts apply when customers pay with their ATM cards.
