Reliance Federal Names Executive

MIDDLE ATLANTIC

Reliance Federal Savings Bank, Garden City, N.Y., has appointed William W. Riley as vice president of commercial lending and Peter D. McCarthy as vice president of retail banking.

Both came from Continental Bank, Garden City, which Reliance Federal bought in October.

Mr. Riley was a senior vice president and senior loan officer. Before he joined Continental, he held a similar post at Apple Bank for Savings and earlier had worked for Long Island Trust Co.

Mr. McCarthy was a senior vice president and chief retail officer. Before that he had held the title of vice president and regional manager at Citizens First National Bank of New Jersey, Crossland Savings Bank, and Bank of New York.

Meanwhile, Charles DeRosa was hired as vice president of taxation and internal controls. Mr. DeRosa, who is a CPA, was a senior manager at KPMG Peat Marwick responsible for large-scale tax minimization projects.
