Short Takes: Internet Delivery of Compliance Documents

A Fort Lauderdale, Fla., company has introduced "i-Fulfillment," an Internet service that lets mutual fund companies, banks, and 401(k) plan administrators deliver compliance and fulfillment documents electronically.

The service, offered by Internet Broadcasting Co., sends investors prospectuses, quarterly statements, semiannual reports, and other communications mandated by the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Recipients are notified of the delivery by an interactive window that appears in a corner of the computer screen.

The company says it delivers documents at one-quarter the cost of conventional mail.
