In Briefs: Associates First's CEO to Retire in Early '99

Harold D. Marshall, president and chief operating officer of Associates First Capital Corp., will retire early next year, concluding a 38-year career at the consumer finance firm, the company said Tuesday.

Mr. Marshall, 62, said he was announcing his retirement early to ensure an orderly transition. The company expects to promote from within to fill Mr. Marshall's post, said Keith W. Hughes, the chairman and chief executive officer.
