Mellon Unit Names Calif. Chief, Adds Exec

Mellon Private Asset Management has promoted one executive and hired another in California.

Christopher E. Sheldon was named California regional manager of the Mellon Bank Corp. unit.

Mellon also announced the hiring of Harold J. Warner to be a senior vice president of Mellon Trust of California and senior portfolio manager for Mellon Private Asset Management's San Francisco office.

Mr. Sheldon was previously in charge of Mellon's private-client business in Southern California; Mr. Warner joins from Warner Fiduciary Counsel LLC, San Francisco.

A Mellon spokesman said the posts are new and reflect the company's "continued investment and commitment on the West Coast."

Mellon Private Asset Management, which manages and administers $82 billion, has California offices in Los Angeles, Beverly Hills, Palo Alto, Palm Desert, and Newport Beach.
