Wells Exec Hired To Be President Of Civic Bank In California

CivicBank of Commerce in Oakland, Calif., has hired the head of Wells Fargo & Co.'s national financial services division as president and chief lending officer.

Arnold T. Grisham was an executive vice president at Wells. The division he led manages lending and cash management relationships with large companies and financial institutions. It has eight offices and 100 employees.

Earlier at Wells, Mr. Grisham managed Wells Fargo Bank's East Bay regional commercial banking office, also in Oakland. He was also the first chairman of Wells' cultural-diversity committee.

He will start at CivicBank, a subsidiary of $375 million-asset Civic Bancorp, on Jan. 1. He will report to Herbert C. Foster, chairman and chief executive officer of the bank and president and CEO of the holding company.

Mr. Grisham will succeed John E. Lindstedt, who is retiring. Mr. Lindstedt also once worked for Wells; has been president of CivicBank since 1994.
