BancFirst Ohio Taps Nelson as Chief Exec of Bellbrook Unit

BancFirst Ohio Corp., Zanesville, Ohio, has promoted Kevin W. Nelson to president and chief executive officer of its $42 million-asset Bellbrook Community Bank.

He succeeded William A. Dougherty, who resigned Feb. 13 to become president and CEO of Morgan Bank in Hudson, Ohio.

Mr. Nelson joined Bellbrook last February as its senior vice president and senior lending officer. He came from United National Bank and Trust Co. in Canton, Ohio, where he was in charge of the consumer loan department.

Mr. Dougherty came to Bellbrook in 1995 from FirstMerit Corp.'s Elyria (Ohio) Savings and Trust, where he was a vice president and senior retail lender.

Meanwhile $1.1 billion-asset BancFirst Ohio said senior vice president David A. Arnold, chairman of its operating policy committee, has retired.

He had held those posts since last March. His duties-responsibility for credit administration, risk management, and compliance-will be divided.

Mr. Arnold joined First National Bank of Zanesville, BancFirst Ohio's principal subsidiary, in 1991 as executive vice president and chief operating officer.

He became president of the bank in February 1996 but relinquished the post to become senior vice president of the parent company.
