In Brief: Bank of Commerce to Set Up 7 Lending Offices

Bank of Commerce, the largest bank Small Business Administration lender, announced plans this week to open seven loan production offices.

The bank plans to open lending offices in Houston, Dallas, and San Antonio this spring; in Chicago and Atlanta this summer; and in Salt Lake City and Boise, Idaho, this fall.

"We believe there is significant opportunity to capture market share for SBA lending due to merger activity among our competitors," said Peter Q. Davis, Bank of Commerce chairman and chief executive officer.

Emerson Hall, Bank of Commerce's senior regional vice president, will supervise the offices in Texas, Atlanta, and Chicago. He previously was regional vice president for GE Capital Corp.'s small-business finance division in Dallas.
