SOUTHEAST

Wachovia Corp., Winston-Salem, N.C., promoted five vice presidents to senior vice president at Wachovia Bank. They are:

Elizabeth A. Sloan, the senior investment professional in the bond and money market group.

Elizabeth L. Cowell, manager of retail support services in the consumer financial systems and services group.

Garry D. Fisher, manager of credit product development in the consumer financial systems and services group.

John S. Hubich, manager of deposit product development in the consumer financial systems and services group.

Robert E. Pike, senior portfolio manager in the asset management group.

In addition, Wachovia promoted vice presidents Haywood Edmundson 5th and John R. Elster Jr. to senior vice presidents.

Mr. Edmundson remains a senior relationship manager in the Southeast corporate group, and Mr. Elster a senior investment professional in the capital markets group.

Also, vice president Josephine Santiago was promoted to senior vice president of Wachovia Operational Services Corp. Ms. Santiago is manager of international operations in New York.
