In Brief: Fox-Pitt Analyst Joins J.P. Morgan

J.P. Morgan & Co. said Monday that Michael Granger joined its J.P. Morgan Securities unit as a banking industry analyst. Mr. Granger, 37, came from Fox-Pitt Kelton Inc., where he held a similar position.

Morgan said the hiring of Mr. Granger enables it to expand its coverage of mid-cap banks. Mr. Granger will cover those institutions with Morgan bank analyst and managing director Catherine Murray, who also follows large banking companies. Morgan declined to specify which companies Mr. Granger will follow.

At Fox-Pitt, Mr. Granger was a senior vice president. He covered banking companies in New England, the Southeast, and Ohio. He also followed card companies. Mr. Granger started his job as a vice president at Morgan last week. -- Dan Weil
