Site Offers Research On Hedge Funds

HedgeWorld Ltd. of Bermuda last week launched a Web site that provides research and portfolio tracking services for the hedge fund industry.

The site, www.hedgeworld.com, gives investors access to news, research, and reports on specific funds and managers. It also allows investors to track performance through personalized portfolios. For fund managers, the site offers a conduit for information about their products.

The site can access information such as performance data, which until now was available only through high-priced databases, said Gregory P. Barrett, executive vice president of HedgeWorld USA Inc., a Rye, N.Y.-based subsidiary of the company.

Institutional investors can use features such as portfolio tracking, which collects updated fund information that they would otherwise have to gather from individual fund managers, Mr. Barrett said.
